Review of Troll 2 (1990) by Cameron M — 31 May 2012

There are some films that will make you cry. There are some films that make you laugh, and there are some films that make you excited and scream in pure terror. Once in a while, a film comes along that includes all of these elements. Troll 2 is one of those films.

There are many reasons Troll 2 is considered the tour-de-force it really is, but the main reason is widely considered to be Claudio Fragasso's impeccable directing. Every shot, every movement, every scene, every line - is all executed with a certain perfection that has only been surpassed in other classics such as "Killer Klowns from Outer Space" and "Schindler's List". Orson Welles has stated Troll 2 has a major influence on his universally acclaimed drama, "Citizen Kane".

Another incredible element to this masterpiece is the screenwriting and the acting. Every line is executed perfectly by great acting from George Hardy and Michael Stephenson. Classic lines such as "Here it is... Nice and Creamy!" and "You can't piss on hospitality... I won't allow it!" are just a few examples of heart warming lines from Troll 2.

It may have caused lots of confusion from audiences at first, but most critics say that it was a film ahead of it's time. Troll 2 is an incredible film, and I recommend it to anyone interested in film or having a good time.
