Review of Triple 9 (2016) by George B — 11 Feb 2016
The premise is great but ultimately the film is a slow one. It's like a mix between Training Day and Sicario but featuring non of the tension of either.
You'll be pulled in by the cast and if you like them all then you'll at least enjoy seeing them in the same film.
Some of the actors are underserved and are essentially cameos - i'm looking at Gal Gadot here. Without spoiling things there is, of course, a build up to a big heist that just leaves you thinking "why did they need so many people in the first place".
Interesting enough, but not sharp, engaging or enticing enough.
