Review of Trick 'r Treat (2007) by Julian T — 07 Dec 2011
When this steaming deuce and 'Drag Me To Hell' are the 2 most critically acclaimed horror movies of the last couple years, you know mainstream America can't recognize good horror film from a week old dead raccoon. This was really really bad.
A bunch of nonsensical, rip off, hodge-podged run of crappy wanna be campfire stories that might scare a 6 year old. Director Dougherty clearly attended the M. Night Shyamalan 'What a Twist!!!' University. Unfortunately, these twists are more in the vein of 'The Village' than 'The 6th Sense', as in, 'wow... that was... lame.' All of the stories are stupid. All of the acting is worse, with the exception of Cox, who at least tries to take his role seriously.
If I wanted to watch a bunch of disconnected stories that were shot for $50 and geared towards preschoolers, I would have just watched a couple episodes of 'Goosebumps'. At least those would have been good for a laugh. Something I can not say about his turd of a movie.
