Perhaps I missed something here, I did not understand what was so significant about each story and how over the top and outrageous this film got at times. The entire time I was questioning who this Sam 'thing' is only to learn that maybe he is the essence of halloween.

Maybe another viewing will change my opinion but the film did not have very good acting the story itself was very confusing and tried so hard to connect but was sloppy and the scare factor quickly fell as the film progressed.
