Review of Trick 'r Treat (2007) by Tyson P — 27 May 2013
Yeah I agree this movie had quite a few clever moments to it. There were a few times were I would kind of raise an eyebrow and think "are you serious" or "thats not right" (for example the group of extremely hot females who can't find a date so they resort to asking random guys.
....?)but then minutes later a very smart explanation would arise leaving me ashamed of my quick judgement. The only thing this movie was missing was the 21st century shock factor all of us young horror/gore hounds feed off of.
I really tried to like this movie more than I did in the end because my little cousin plays one of the little trick r treaters who gets scared away from one of the houses, but in the end I did not find it as amazing as most reviewers lead me to anticipate.
Still the more the movie sits in my head the greater my appreciation grows for it(overnight I switched it from a 3 to 3.5), so i'd expect my ratings to chane in the future and possibly after a second viewing.
It is definatly smarter than most horror movies so i'd expect most horror fans to at least find it amuzing...................ok fine ill give it 4stars.
