Review of Trick 'r Treat (2007) by Danny G — 05 Jan 2011
At some points you believe the film will take off, but in the end you're still sitting on the ground. "Trick 'r Treat" is mundane, monotonous, and very unimaginative. Some scenes will get your thoughts going, and maybe even your nerves tingling, but in the end you will grasp reality and realize how feeble this wannabe horror experience really is.
The score is horrid, which is upsetting considering how important score is within horror films. The performances were among satisfactory, but the special effects and production design were an off-putting bore.
Overall, the concept for "Trick 'r Treat" is somewhat exceptional, but the execution simply doesn't do it the justice it deserves.
