Review of Triage (2009) by Megan O — 16 Aug 2010
Triage wasn't quite what I expected, but was ultimately pretty entertaining, despite suffering from pretty messy storytelling. There's a compelling story in there somewhere, it just wasn't effectively told.
All of the performances are very good, especially by Colin Farrell -- though, I'm a bit disturbed to read that he lost 44 pounds for the role. Not disturbed because of the weight loss, but more so because I thought he actually looked more fetching than ever in this one (maybe second to Ondine).
But apparently everyone else thought he was quite a scary sight. Regardless of all of that, and regardless of Triage ultimately not being much to write home about, Farrell has definitely been choosing his projects more wisely lately, and although I had a falling out with him a few years back, I can confidently say he's won me over again.
