Review of Tremors 5: Bloodlines (2015) by Bill R — 14 Oct 2015
The original Tremors is a classic and was a staple of a lot of peoples childhood. It was always on television and for its time, it was a well made movie and it was scary. There have been 4 sequels and and this 5th, straight to Netflix feature was actually very entertaining.
It starred Jamie Kennedy who surprisingly played an awesome role and for Tremors fans, the original Burt Gummer returned in all his greatness (sadly Kevin Bacon was nowhere to be found). The action all took place in Africa and as kind of a downer, because the tremors evolved, a lot of the monsters are flying, running critters, not the typical giant worms you expect.
There still are some scenes with huge worms that attack from underground and there is plenty of guns and cars and explosions that keep the action ramped up nicely. The other characters featured were kind of lame but with Kennedy being a badass on a motorcycle, it was plenty.
Just because this went straight to streaming video, does not mean it is a bad movie at all. Check it out for a fun ride with plenty of giant tremor deaths.
