This was better and takes the story in a full cycle. The story takes place roughly 100 years before the first movie and follows Burt Gummer's grandfather as he takes on the Graboids. This also tells you why Burt Gummer originally wanted to stay in the town.
Only problem with this was that there wasn't alot of funny moments in the film.
