Review of Tremors (1990) by Asif K — 11 Aug 2010
Sure, the acting in this movie is horrible, the dialogue is weak, and they never do explain why their little town is attacked by three huge mutant flesh eating worms (slight plot hole). But, you have to love everything that is the pure, classic, horror cheese of Tremors.
Kudos, Ron Underwood! Fantastic B-movie horror/comedy with some genuinely creepy moments. The cast are fun (wow Kevin Bacon looks young) and there are genuine laughs to be had. The effects look a little dated now, but that's part of the fun with B-movies.
Surprisingly great script makes this better than most of its kind and it spawned 3 sequels (which I suspect may suck). Sure it's a bit cheesy, but in all the best ways. nice.
