A truly enjoyable film that has genuine scares and a sense of humor to boot, Tremors is a film that really is an old fashion B horror film with a modern ring to it.

One thing that is to be praised about this film is how the creatures are not CGI. I donâ(TM)t hate CGI and I certainly appreciate the work of those who do put CGI in movies, but it is just so nice to see something that we know is there and that the actors are really reacting to. The design of the creatures is very clever and a lot of thought was put into these animals. So much so, that I once saw a 7 minute flash animation that explained basic Graboid biologyâ¦and I almost believed it. The creatures in this film, despite being somewhat ridiculous in their 50â(TM)s style of monster will scare you and make you think twice about tramping through the desert of the Southwest. You will fear them and love them all at once.

I could go on about characters, but in reality there is only one everyone really talks about and remembers: Burt Gummer (Michael Gross). This character is just so entertaining to watch. Burt is a man who refuses to ever get caught with his pants down. He is the survivalist and advocate of the second amendment your parents warn you about, with a home that is more fallout shelter than home with enough firearms and ammunition to help prepare a militia. There is one fantastic scene where that is shown in graphic detail and practically makes the whole movie in my opinion.

What else can I say other than this is a fun movie with great monsters and a pretty cool characters to boot.
