Review of Treasure Planet (2002) by Mitch M — 28 Feb 2011

Though it is not great, Treasure Island offers some visual wonderment and thrilling adventure here and there. The major problem with this film is the lack of character development. The movie is this big epic and you need some developed characters to bring this movie home, and it does not have this in the slightest. I could care less for anyones situation. Nobody is worth a second glance. The voice acting is passable, but is not remarkable. I cringed on a few bits, but found myself smiling alot of the way.

Yes, when they finally get on the planet filled with the treasures, some really cool scenes take place esp. at the end when they are actually at the treasure itself. It does keep you on edge and you are wanting to know how it ends. Not what happens to the chars, but how are they going to close this story.

So Treasure Island is a decent enough movie, but not a great entry in the Disney films. I give it a 6/10.
