Review of Treasure Planet (2002) by Rylee S — 09 Jan 2019
This has been my favourite movie since I was little. I can't even count the amount of times I've seen it- it just never gets old. The animation is a beautiful mix of classic 2D drawing style animation and 3D digital rendering animation, which are integrated together flawlessly, especially for when it was released.
The soundtrack is phenomenal (and I listen to it regularly while working) and the two theme songs (I'm Still Here and Always Know Where You Are) are mature, emotional, wonderful rock songs that can be listened to as an every day playlist item.
The story is beautiful and interesting, and has something to teach everyone. It is, in my opinion, one of Disney's best movies (despite it being labelled as a box office flop), and even my dad (who hates Disney) loves it.
I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes pirates, space, good scores, good animation, or is just looking for a damn good adventure.
