Review of TransSiberian (2008) by Aaron H — 02 Aug 2012
A taut, unpredictable thriller that manages to stay tense without the shock value of extreme violence. The characters are well developed throughout the film and continue to become more sympathetic as an increasing number of their personal flaws are revealed.
As the movie progresses, I also found myself wondering if the characters are what they seem. The pacing of the movie in this respect was superb. Despite the lack of "action," the two murders that take place on screen are chilling in their reality; a decision made in a moment of extreme distress and a decision made with ruthless calculation and efficiency.
