Review of TransSiberian (2008) by John K — 10 Jan 2009
Thriller? More like annoying trainride rollercoaster where the rollercoaster brokedown every half hour. The abby actress kate mara was REALLy attractiv so that was a fun part of the movie. I thought the braveheart chick would be great, but her performance was so fidgety.
Woody harrelson was great. The movie hit a new low when it tried to blend in with some kind of the european "hostel" theme of the cops butchering the poor american girl. And then you get angry because the american girl was awesome and then get brutalized grotesquely .
all the "thrills" were off-pitch, too. like it'd be a thrill jolt. but it was a few minutes behind from when the thrill was supposed to happen so you look back in teh plot and think "oh That's where I wwas suppposed to be "thrilled" haha.
the one kind of interesting part of the movie I thought was how the US was genuinely portrayed as such a safe haven (which in many ways it is ) from the utter insanity of what can go on in other countries, atleast in this plot.
The way the officials formally handled the med care of abby and the statements and all that resolved prettyh gracefully or reassuredly.
