Review of Transformers: Age of Extinction (2014) by Joseph A — 15 Jan 2015

The excuse for this movie being a good one: Impressively amazing visual effects, fantastic art design of the robotic transformers ( and improved ) and favourable explosions - just about enough to thrill the minds of fans and deliver the best fast-editing style of the action sequences, throughout a 2hr 45min running time.

The excuse for this movie being a rubbish one: the worst kind of excuse for a sequel, underdeveloped characters and a screenplay written with absurd and unnecessary dialogue, to make the characters appear ridiculous and un-interesting - making them out to be characters with hardly any connection with each other, which creates bad acting for the people stepping in to play them. It's just about enough to bore you to tears, especially when there's hardly any Autobots or robots at all ( this movie lacks Deceptigons ) in this movie to approve of. The only ones present are silly and ridiculous, and worst of all: Optimus Prime and Bumblebee don't even have enough screen time together, nor is Bumblebee involved that much.

This movie would've been far better, if for once, it had focused on the relationship between Optimus and Bumblebee, but no it tends to reflect a lot around the basis of newly found technology that nobody cares about!

There's enough money at the box-office that TF IV have earned to keep the franchise running ( over a $1 billion dollars, internationally, I believe ) and sometimes I don't think there's any redemption for this franchise. I'd say it needs more drama and less of the technical stuff.
