Review of Transcendence (2014) by Rob W — 15 Aug 2014
Fascinating concept and storyline, but very poorly executed. It sucks when combining a talented cast with an interesting storyline results in a rather dull film that drags to nowhere. The characters were flat.
The skipping of time, as in "two years later", was a lazy attempt to explain away plotholes. It took an hour and 45 minutes to finally gain momentum. Overall, it was not worth the nearly two hours.
Even the ending, which should have been an "OOOH" moment was a poor attempt at the spinning top in "Inception" and turned out to be more of an "Oh, ok *eject*" moment.
