Review of Traitor (2008) by The Fvar J — 09 Nov 2010
Clearly capitalizing on the West's fear and fascination with Islamic fundamentalism, Traitor swiftly tells the story of one true believer's struggle to do what is right amidst the twisted demands of his faith.
Don Cheadle plays a genuinely likable protagonist who must walk a fine line between both the Western and Islamic cultures. His religious devotion is tested when extremists begin coercing him to perform terrorist activities.
It's well acted and fairly entertaining material, but none of the characters really show enough emotion to make this film more than a window into one of today's most fragile front page subjects.
