Review of Trainwreck (2015) by New D — 14 Jan 2016
I love Amy Schumer and even bought the first two seasons of "Inside Amy Schumer" on DVD, but "Trainwreck" is a lousy movie. I knew I wouldn't like it when I saw the trailer, and I was right.
Not only was it bad it was boring. I think Amy was forced to go along with what the studio wanted and they ruined any creativity she might have brought to it. I was also very disappointed that they used so many SNL people in the movie.
Who even watches SNL anymore, and these SNL players are so shticky. Bill Hader, Vanessa Bayer, Pete Davidson, and Leslie Jones did not add value to the movie at all. They should have cast actual actors for the film.
They could have introduced some talented new people. The male lead should be a hunky, handsome guy and someone who had chemistry with Amy. Bill Hader was nothing like a typical orthopedic doctor and why would Amy Schumer's character be attracted to him? Bill Hader is weird looking and not a good actor.
The movie was too long at over 2 hours. The plot kept switching from raunchy comedy to rom-com to serious drama. It was all over the place.
