Review of Trainspotting (1996) by Buddy K — 03 Aug 2011
A brilliantly acted (especially by Ewan McGregor) and shot look into the culture of heroin users. Probably Danny Boyle's best film. It's sort of a Scottish "Requiem for a Dream" but with jokes and a good bit less depressing while still not glorifying the drug use of its protagonists.
Alternately heartbreaking, hilarious and thought provoking Trainspotting deserves a spot in the pantheon of great drug movies.
