Review of Trainspotting (1996) by Nelson M — 02 Jul 2012
Danny Boyle's second feature is, perhaps, the best of his films. A fun, fast paced film which is both highly entertaining and extremely horrifying at moments. The problem with the film is that it seems to be a little held back.
There is a feeling that there could be a lot more to this film than there really is. Not to mention it has some issues flowing from one scenario to the next. However all of these problems are forgiven for the enthusiasm of the cast and the wonderful delivery.
It's definitely one of the more entertaining films about drugs, but it never touches us in the same way that, say, Naked Lunch does.
