Review of Trainspotting (1996) by Connor F — 23 Apr 2013
Trainspotting will likely be compared to Requiem for a Dream in theme, but Boyle's approach is completely different, infusing minimal drama and consequences and sparking most scenes with comedy. The acting by all is phenomenal because all the actors can show just how bipolar addicts can be, changing from distressed to hysterical almost instantly.
Nothing is glorified, but the horrors are often entertaining to watch.
