Review of Trainspotting (1996) by Mitch T — 04 Feb 2012
I remember the first time I heard of this movie was from my grade 9 english teacher. She hated it. Saying it was morally bankrupt and that none of us should ever watch it. I wonder if she has any more recomendations.
Whew, where do I start? This film is incredible the way it's structure is really one horrible tragedy after another and I really had to see it a couple times to get all of the sadness. But the movie does'nt dwell on that. This is what makes it so watchable is that it has an energy to it that keeps things fresh and all of the characters, perhaps likeable is the wrong word; but deffinately memorable. The acting and direction is top notch with great dialogue and a wonderfully used sound track.
My favourite scene happens to be a montage of the city which does a great job of capturing the tone of the film.
