Review of Train to Busan (2016) by Thomas T — 14 Sep 2016
I thought I would never watch anything zombie related after being bored of The Walking Dead. Then, Train to Busan came along. I expected it to be your standard zombie apocalypse movie with a simple story of the infection spreading and tons of blood and gore.
What I did not expect was how developed our characters turned out to be. It takes a few episodes in The Walking Dead to care for the characters. Somehow, during this 117-minute flick, I cared for almost everyone and everything that took place in what I believe, is the best zombie movie I have seen in recent years.
It knows how to be fun and scary as a zombie flick, it definitely knows how to benefit our heroes like most great zombie flicks do, but what was so different with Train to Busan was how powerful it truly can be.
One of the best surprises of 2016, one of my favorite foreign films ever made, and is definitely one of the best movies I have seen this year.
