Review of Train to Busan (2016) by James R — 04 Apr 2017
What a great horror flick. Train To Busan is a Korean horror film that follows a group of people that are on a train headed to the city of Busan. Meanwhile a zombie outbreak has happened and an infected passenger has brought the outbreak onto the crowded train! We follow a busy father named Seok-woo (Yoo Gong) who brings his daughter Soo-an (Soo-an Kim) along to visit his ex-wife.
Seok-woo is a busy man and can't connect with his daughter who just wants his love. On the train they meet a young couple Yong-guk (Woo-sik Choi) and his girlfriend Jin-hee (Sohee). And a pregnant woman named Seong-kyeong (Yu-mi Jung) and her strong husband Sang-hwa (Dong-seok Ma).
Together they brave the perils of the train helping each other not only survive the zombie hoard inside the train, but the paranoid passengers that only look to help themselves. The film is not just a horror film, but it explores a father daughter relationship and even about how not to judge someone from their looks.
It has some scary moments, but has a well done plot that moves along very well (especially for a film nearly 2 hours). I enjoyed it and would recommend giving it a look for any horror fans!
