Review of Train to Busan (2016) by Marron Y — 12 Sep 2016
I admit of underestimating it at first because of the hype that I thought it's gonna be another one of those heavily computerized but empty blockbuster films. But after watching it, I was really surprised and I really think that it surpasses what World War Z lacked. I.e., intense action scenes, interesting protagonists and human villains. I hate the melodramatic scenes typical of Asian films though. They're annoyingly omnipresent, so over the top, and cheesy at Asian films though many are good and show raw emotions unlike western films. I think the film suffered from completely opposite polars of it's ups and downs regarding sentimental scenes.
Though as a zombie flick? Disappointing films such as world war z and resident evil can rot as brainless zombies. This one reeks wickedly!
