Review of Train to Busan (2016) by Mique W — 17 Sep 2016
This movie was so much more than the traditional zombie movie. I went in knowing that the movie was going to be good, because everyone was talking about it. But it exceeded my expectations. The characters were all so well developed.
They each felt so different and real, none of those Hollywood stereotypical characters. They just seemed like people you would meet on any regular day. Their reasons for wanting to survive, what they did to try to survive and how their actions impacted whether other people could or could not survive, were all very interesting and well placed.
The movie was well paced with just enough of everything. It stuck to the tradition Korean movie/ drama formula, in that it went beyond the surface and reached for the feels. Definitely recommend.
