Review of Tragedy Girls (2017) by Tim M — 19 Feb 2018
'Tragedy Girls' is daring, smart, funny and bold, and that makes for a relevant and fun comedic horror movie. Director and co-writer Tyler Macintyre is able to encapsulate the way teen girls are obsessed with social media in a sociopathic way.
It's a bit of a farce and it embraces what it is. True to itself the film never wavers. The best movie of this genre since the original 'Scream'. The two leads Alexandra Shipp and Brianna Hildebrand are relative unknowns but have a fantastic chemistry.
Like so many horror movies the end is set up for a follow up, but so few people have seen this (and that's a shame) I can't imagine we get another! Final Score: 7.8/10.
