Review of Toys (1992) by Lance M — 17 Feb 2008
This movie was kind of odd. I mean it was the kind of movie that was great for kids, but also contained a lot of hidden messages that kids wouldn't pick up on. The movie itself is filled with symbolism and foreshadowing.
Overall it was a great movie and worth watching, but it seems like it was trying really hard to make you think at the same time. The simple story is that a toy companies CEO dies and instead of leaving the business to his experienced son that is just like him, he leaves it to his military brother who ends up plotting sinister things for the company.
The acting is decent and the scenery is really magical, essentially the stars of the movie and a key element in all the movies hidden messages. Acting was good though with Robin Williams, Joan Cusack, and LL Cool J.
If you havent seen this movie you really should.
