Review of Towelhead (2008) by Damien B — 24 Mar 2009
A very good adaptaton. The book was painful to read and this movie was just as painful to watch. Great acting, I feel they really did get a sense of the characters. Aaron Eckhart finally used his acting chops he's been hiding from so many of his movies, he definately got that sick pervert thing down.
I felt they casted the movie very well and raised a lot of issues. I will say I was a bit dissapointed though. The book is very good but the ending is very hallow and there are SO many questions left unansweerd.
I really thought the film adaptation would make the movie feel more complete but unfortunately it didn't, it stayed TOO true to form and the director and screenwriter could have gave the audience that sense of completion that was so desperately needed.
