Review of Towelhead (2008) by Johnny T — 20 Oct 2011
Didn't watch the whole thing. What little I saw is disturbing and believable: a teenager who comes of age, having to deal with inept, out-of-touch, self-absorbed parents, having a black boyfriend her racist father doesn't approve of, and, at the top of a REALLY BAD SUNDAE, participating in a relationship made of statutory rape with her white veteran neighbor.
The story is creepy and sad all around. Not the greatest movie ever, but good enough, especially if I had seen the whole thing.
