Review of Towelhead (2008) by Catherine G — 20 Apr 2009
If you're thinking this movie looks too similar to American Beauty, that is because Alan Ball wrote both movies for the screen. Like American Beauty, Towelhead also delt with many different (often taboo topics: interacial dating,teenage sexuality,statutory rape,racial stereotypes etc etc.
set in suburbia Texas. I thought most of which works well in this flim. Aaron Eckhart had a challenging role and thought he pulled it off. Of course Toni Collette is a bad ass, and she delievers in this smaller role.
I was pretty impressed with Summer Bishil and am excited to see her build her resume with strong performances like this one.
