Review of Towelhead (2008) by Alexander S — 17 May 2009
Another mildly disturbing setting in a pleasant suburbanite town. Jasira tries coming of age but finds herself meddling in the affairs of a hypocritical environment involving a racially unaccepting abusive father, a pedophile who can't help his lust, an empathetic mother-figure, and sexual tension with an African boy.
Powerful performances and worth watching once.
