Alan Balls (6 Ft Under, American Beauty, True Blood) Towelhead is the story of an adolescent Arab-American girl (half White, half Lebanese) trying to find her way through her budding sexuality while sent off to live with her oppressive controlling Father (on the eve of the first Gulf war) in a Conservative Houston Suburb.
As with any Alan Ball movie there are plenty of uncomfortable moments about race, and sexuality.
