Review of Towelhead (2008) by Jason N — 16 Feb 2010
The disturbing story of a disturbed kid (sexual awakening? uh huh). I thought it was a good movie actually, very interesting, and different, but it had such awkward, uncomfortable moments, and it felt so pointless at the end that I really can't give it a higher rating.
Summer Bishil HAD to be at least 18 to play this but, regardless of her petite physique, she still managed to show such an innocent face sometimes, with such sad puppy eyes, like a lost pubescent girl trying to find herself.
And yeah, that was the character actually. But I just couldnt help myself thinking aloud sometimes "come on now kid, slow down, you are 13!!!" Oh but I sort of admire Aaron Eckhart, taking on an incendiary role like this, it takes guts.
