Review of Touch of Evil (1958) by Al M — 30 May 2008
Excellent noirish entry in the Welles ouevre. As far as Welles goes, I might even prefer Touch of Evil over Citizen Cane. Charlton Heston, Orson Welles, and Janet Leigh are all brilliant in this crime drama that examines the nature of justice and the punitive system as well as the darkest parts of human nature.
As an added bonus, you get to experience Charlton Heston's borderline racist turn as a Mexican detective.
