Review of Touch of Evil (1958) by Paul — 15 Jun 2008
This film certainly deserves the classic latter-day noir status it is quite righty given. The international border politics set in motion by the fatal bombing incident is a very clever device which would have been razor sharp in 1958 and is still relatively current today.
The direction is keen and things crack along apace giving the impression that we are witnessing events of much gravity with real consequences. Great performances from the cast too, top notch!
