Review of Touch of Evil (1958) by Andrew N — 20 Jun 2008
Utterly astounding. Watching the recut version (which finally adheres, as best as it can, to Wells' notes) I realized how ahead of his time Wells was: he took pains to hire naturalistic actors, interposed scenesâ??the leads are marvelous in this noir of noirs which leaves you with no easy answers when the credits finally roll.
