Review of Touch of Evil (1958) by Peter F — 27 May 2018
Who said Orson Welles didn't make any other movies on par with Citizen Kane? Touch of Evil is a taut noir thriller with truly engaging film making (arguably the best tracking shots for it's time).
The story is classic noir, and even features a ballsy depiction of drug addiction for 50s cinema. Charleton Heston doesn't make the most convincing Mexican, but it's an irrelevant complaint in regards to this film.
