Review of Torn Curtain (1966) by Andrew L — 10 Oct 2007
I tried to love this film as much as Hitch's others, even though it is one of my favourate film genres, the spy thriller. It may well be well directed and Hitch tries to inject some unique touches, but the film feels outdated and didn't engage me as much as i'd like it to have done.
The film still has a few nice scenes though, especially the one in which Newman and his contact have to "deal" with a minder who may well blow Newmans plans. It demonstrates that actually killing someone isn't as quick and easy as some films lead us to believe!
