Review of Torn Curtain (1966) by Steve P — 19 Nov 2007
Hitch is the master, but here is luck ran out! Tedious cold war drama, wasting Paul Newman up against the horribly miscast Julie Andrews. If the "oh Michael" scene doesn't make you puke, you might just survive to the end creds.
Notable for an excellent murder scene only where the agent steadfastly refuses to die. Pure amateur hour though when Newman panics a Russian theatre audience by shouting "Fire!"... in English.
