Review of Torn Curtain (1966) by Ben S — 25 Mar 2008
A tepid thriller that is only intermittently exciting, featuring a horribly bland Julie Andrews performance and a just-OK one from Paul Newman. John Addison's score is terrible and used at the wrong times; it's a shame Bernard Herrman didn't score this one.
Also, the budget was apparently low because the studio blew most of it landing Newman and Andrews, and the production has a cheapness to it throughout.
