Review of Torn Curtain (1966) by Pavel S — 25 Nov 2008
Hitchcock famously said that he had gone into making this film without a satisfactory script, female lead or a composer. Sadly for him, he was dead on right as this talky, slow and eccentric espionage tale which is filled with both great scenes of tension as well as great enormous plot holes and poor character logic.
Newman is good and the bus-sequence is classic Hitchcock cleverness, but the overall film will only appeal to fans of the master.
