Review of Topsy-Turvy (1999) by Brian B — 13 Jan 2011

This is and has been my favorite movie for years now. Ever since I stumbled upon it on cable (unfortunately), I've never gotten tired of watching it. It's one of those that I will stop what I'm doing and watch no matter where it's at in the story. I've yet to turn it off once I started and have it recorded on my DVR in case I'm in the mood.

I'm a sucker for a good historical fiction, and this movie is lush with victorian charm. It just seems like you're peeking into that time period like a spy. Add to that the wonderful music and performances across the board, not to mention the best ensemble cast EVAR, and it's a timeless classic for me.

I'll have some mild regret if I see another movie that knocks it off the top.
