Review of Top Gun (1986) by Sidney S — 15 Dec 2011
A cult classic and one of the most iconic films of the 1980's. Top Gun is a pure adrenaline thrill ride featuring a great cast. Tom Cruise in one of his early performances is also one of his best, Maverick an eager, daredevil fighter pilot.
Co stars Kelly McGillis and Val Kilmer also help bring the film to life. The film however may be at times a little too over the top but keep in mind its an 80's action film, that's the point. The film features some impressive flight and aerial combat sequences, director Tony Scott can film some great action sequences, especially the final air battle.
Top Gun also has quite a good soundtrack.
