Review of Top Gun (1955) by Cade H — 28 Apr 2014
Top Gun is a classic movie that I just now have gotten around to see. I am sure it was much cooler in the 80's but now a days, it is only an average film with some cool aspects. It is a very bare boned flick about fighter pilots training, someone dies, there is a love story, and a final real life mission that didn't make any sense to me.
Tom Cruise was very cool and I finally heard and saw many of the famous scenes and lines everyone talks about. The actual flying scenes were nice and filmed in a way that made them fun and intense to watch.
While some aspects were neat, other parts of the film were pretty corny and rushed through. Its not great but its not bad and I can see that back in 1986 this would have been an awesome movie to watch with your friends.
