Review of Top Five (2014) by Dave R — 05 Apr 2015
Let me just say from the beginning, Chris Rock has not been one of my favorites, in fact no where near my top five of comedians. Also, the first 30 minutes of Top Five made me wonder if this was going to be a waste of time.
However, if you can get through the long set up, there are some good laughs to be had during the last 2/3 of the movie. Rock and Rosario Dawson finally get things going and there's some fun stuff going on here.
The movie really picks up when Rock stops by his old friend and family's home and the razzing begins. This is a funny flick with some old stereotypes, but fun to watch.
