Review of Tootsie (1982) by Davey M — 06 May 2008
It's really funny (especially Bill Murray), but it's Hoffman's really achingly sincere and painfully poignant realization as grows from shallow and self-involved to a guy who really tries to understand and love other people (as opposed to just neanderthalically getting into drawers).
Sublimely moving for a movie that often cracks lists of the top ten best American comedies.
