Review of Tootsie (1982) by Kyle J — 29 Dec 2008
I genuinely enjoyed this movie. My roommate tells me that the plot of this film is commonly used in classes for study. I guess I can see why. It is well crafted, no stone unturned as it were. As an American classic I had to deal with 30 years of hype going in, so naturally it wasn't as funny, heart wrenching or poignant as I was lead it would be.
But it did capture my attention and hold it throughout. Dustin Hoffman was great, as he always is. He made me believe his dilemma as the firey but feminine Dorothy. All the Happenstance was pretty entertaining as well.
A very good Sunday afternoon flick.
