Review of Tootsie (1982) by Laura N — 01 Feb 2010
A pretty good movie. Dustin Hoffman was awesome in drag, and very funny. And Bill Murray had the best lines. But what I really liked about this movie was the idea, that by pretending to be a woman, Dustin Hoffman's character found aspects of himself that made him want to be a better man.
I particularly loved how Dabney Coleman's character uses the exact same excuse about not being faithful, that Dustin Hoffman's character used earlier in the film. Very well crafted script and very well executed.
